The FBG improves its results in 2019 by managing 779 projects worth EUR 33.85 million
The FBG has recently published its 2019 Activity Report, which underlines the work carried out by the different areas of the Foundation during the last year and asserts the efforts of the staff to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors, identifying the strengths of researchers at the University of Barcelona and promoting R & D & I projects with companies and institutions.
In 2019, the FBG has signed project contracts for the University of Barcelona amounting to EUR 33.85 million, which represents an increase of more than one million euros compared to 2018. Among other activity indicators, both the number of companies and institutions that have contracted research and the number of active projects have also increased.
The report highlights the creation of the Living Lab UB, the University of Barcelona’s Social Innovation Laboratory, which addresses contemporary social challenges by bringing together leading researchers from various disciplines and all relevant social actors. The report also offers a review of the activities and projects carried out during 2019. These include, for example, the fifth edition of Science + Partners, this year dedicated to Deep Tech, and the fourth edition of the Fund for the Promotion of Innovation programme, with a budget of EUR 130,000. This programme has already led to the creation of four spin-offs, the licensing of three technologies, and the creation of nineteen jobs, and has raised over EUR 2.8 million in funding.
