The University of Barcelona participates in the III TECNIO Congress
The University of Barcelona (UB) participated in the III TECNIO Congress, held at the Cultural Factory in Terrassa on November 21. The event, which commemorated the 25 years of the IT Network, highlighted the importance of knowledge transfer to boost business competitiveness and consolidate Catalonia as a European benchmark in research and innovation.
The UB played a prominent role with the presence of the founding TECNIO groups CPT and LCTEM. Dr. Josep Maria Guilemany and Birame Boye (representative in place of Dr. Enric Brillas) received recognition for their key role in the creation of the IT Network. In addition, Dra. Irene García Cano, director of TECNIO UB CPT, moderated the first round table, focused on fostering collaboration between agents of the innovation ecosystem.
The event was attended by the Minister of Business and Work, Miquel Sàmper, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alícia Romero of the Generalitat de Catalunya, who emphasized the need to increase research funding for equate Catalonia to the European average and they recognized the negative impact of excessive bureaucracy.
This congress has been an opportunity to claim the strength of university research and strengthen the link between science, companies and society. The UB reaffirms its commitment to innovation as a driver of progress and competitiveness.
