Registrations open for the ‘From Science to the Market’ program
The UB, UAB, UPC, UPF, UdG, and UVic-UCC are launching the seventh edition of the ‘From Science to Market’ program. This initiative aims to contribute to the consolidation of a knowledge-based innovation ecosystem by promoting the creation of projects derived from research conducted at Catalan universities.
The program is aimed at master’s and PhD students who want to turn their thesis or dissertation into a company and/or become part of an entrepreneurial team. It is a free, in-person training course that will start in September.
‘From Science to Market’ includes one hundred hours of practical, specialized training in key areas such as business models, intellectual property protection, technology validation, and strategies for creating start-ups or spin-offs.
In addition, the program offers mentoring by professionals with experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as networking opportunities with other researchers, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the business sector.
Previous editions of the program have had over 150 participants and have helped create twelve new start-ups, such as the University of Barcelona spin-off Gate2Brain, as well as Mitiga Solutions and Koa Biotech, among others.
‘From Science to Market’ is funded by the Department of Business and Labor and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
