These are the UB spin-offs and start-ups that will be at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit

The University of Barcelona (UB) will once again be present at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, the epicenter of the start-up ecosystem focused on the transfer of science and cutting-edge technologies. The event will take place on November 4th, 5th, and 6th at Fira Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, within the framework of the Smart City Expo World Congress.

Around fifteen UB spin-offs and start-ups will take advantage of the event to showcase their innovative technologies and establish key connections with investors, corporations, and institutions at both the national and international levels.

The University of Barcelona spin-offs that will participate in the Deep Tech Summit are:

  • Colorsensing: Reducing food waste through the development of a smart packaging solution that detects defective packaged products before they reach consumers.

  • Electraqua Tech: Eliminating organic microcontaminants from industrial wastewater.

  • Fetalife Technologies: Developing a liquid incubator system specifically designed for extremely premature babies, between 22 and 26 weeks of gestation.

  • Flavii Therapeutics: Focused on developing epigenetic therapies for the treatment of central nervous system disorders.

  • Gate2Brain: Developing peptides to cross the blood–brain barrier and deliver drugs to the brain.

  • Logmeal: Artificial intelligence applied to image recognition.

  • Mind and Identity: A digital tool that enables visualization of how a person constructs their self-image and their perception of others.

  • Virmedex Virtual Experiences: Developing gamified software for specialized training in the medical field.

In addition, several UB start-ups will also attend the Deep Tech Summit:

  • Additive Spaces: Driving sustainable innovation in processes, materials, and construction solutions, with additive manufacturing technology at its core.

  • Aigent Incubator: Developing artificial intelligence agents tailored for the telecommunications sector to help operators reduce operational costs, retain customers, and automate service while maintaining a human touch.

  • Bambai: Designing smart IoT solutions with detectors that integrate multiple sensors (humidity, temperature, motion, gas, sound) and connectivity for safety, environmental monitoring, and fire prevention in domestic, industrial, and mobility spaces.

  • BlueGreen Vision: Developing technological solutions aimed at environmental conservation and the recovery of natural species and ecosystems.

  • Copailot: Supporting international business expansion through AI-driven assessments, expert-led training, and comprehensive business intelligence.

  • Lexy: A platform that uses artificial intelligence to help healthcare professionals and organizations quickly and efficiently create optimized content for social media.

  • WardUS: A free mobile app designed with a clear purpose — to improve personal safety and promote civic solidarity during emergencies.

The event, promoted by Barcelona Activa and five Catalan universities (UB, UAB, UPC, UPF and UOC), will serve to explore new opportunities and to boost the Deep Tech industry, which develops technologies that will change the future.

The Barcelona Deep Tech Summit will also include sessions on key topics such as AI and photonics, technology transfer from the laboratory to the market, technological sovereignty, digital health, energy and sustainable mobility, among others.
