The University of Barcelona reinforces its commitment to entrepreneurship and technology transfer in the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress
Once again, the University of Barcelona (UB) was present at 4 Years From Now (4YFN), the platform dedicated to emerging companies and entrepreneurship at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Throughout the week, the companies that emerged from a technology of the university (spin-off) and the emerging companies (start-ups) of the UB exhibited their most innovative projects with the most transfer potential in order to make themselves known on a global stage.
The UB had its own stand within the 4YFN, where the spin-offs Colorsensing, LogMeal, Oniria Therapeutics, Impetux Optics and NeurekaLAB were located. The start-ups that were present were the following: CellFlow, Ludens Studio, Omashu, Pets&Vets, YOUCards Collection, Bend It Sports, DEKINES, MAXSENS, Loop Diagnostics, Sistema THEAD and WardUs Safety.
Several UB spin-offs and start-ups were located in other spaces of the fair, such as Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, Virmedex, Nimble Diagnostics, Smart Classroom Project, VRAIn, Blindstarts, MyLuno AI, and Additive Spaces.
The start-up companies took advantage of the 4YFN to present their technologies, have a first contact with potential investors and weave synergies with other projects and researchers. With the presence in the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress, the University of Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to innovation and its desire to contribute to technological and social progress.
The Blue Box, finalist in the 4YFN Awards – Digital Health
The start-up The Blue Box was a finalist in the 4YFN Awards in the Digital Health category, in which emerging companies were selected that offer innovative solutions and digital technologies to improve the prevention, detection and delivery of healthcare across different services, systems, approaches and locations.
The Blue Box has created an innovative urine test for the early detection of breast cancer. The test is painless, without radiation and has a sensitivity of 88.42%. This quick, accessible and low-cost solution could lead to an additional 30% of women with breast cancer being diagnosed.
On the other hand, spin-offs LogMeal and Nimble Diagnostics were finalists in the 4YFN 2025 Spin Off Pitch battle.
