Cookies are small text files that were initially created to facilitate navigation, although they have subsequently been applied to other areas.
Cookies can be classified into two types, depending on the length of time they remain activated on the user’s terminal equipment:
Session cookies: they are a type of cookie designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that is only of interest to keep for the provision of the service requested by the user.
Persistent cookies: they are a type of cookie that causes the data to continue to be stored on the terminal and that allows the person responsible for the cookie to access and process it for a defined period of time, which can range from minutes to several years.
The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation uses cookies corresponding to the Google Analytics service, in order to monitor traffic and compile reports on how users use the website, in addition to saving the language in which the user enters the website. However, the user can disable or delete these cookies by following the instructions of their browser.
Specifically, the cookies used are the following:
_utma: tracks the number of times a user has been to the website, when their first visit took place and when their last.
_utmb: collects information about the exact moment a visitor enters the website. This cookie expires when the session ends.
_utmc: collects information about the exact moment the visitor leaves the website. This cookie expires thirty minutes after the user has left the website, to prevent them from being counted again if they enter it again.
_utmz: tracks where the visitor comes from, for example by detecting which search engine they used, what keyword they entered and from which part of the world they accessed the website.
