Abstract: Present invention refers to a novel TGF3 signaling pathway inhibitor with improved inhibitory activity, improved therapeutic capacity and improved toxicity profile, as well as to prodrugs thereof, comprising an acetovanillone-derived fragment or a carbamate fragment, which cage the TGF3 signalling inhibiting activity but, when said prodrugs are hydrolysed are able to deliver the more active TGF3 signaling pathway inhibitor in vivo. Compositions comprising said TGF3 signaling pathway inhibitor and prodrugs thereof are also disclosed. Further, present invention discloses said TGF3 signaling pathway inhibitor and prodrugs thereof for use in a method of treating diseases responsive to TGF3 signaling inhibition.
