Mitjan\u00e7ant t\u00e8cniques de biologia molecular i enginyeria de prote\u00efnes es pot aconseguir obtenir noves caracter\u00edstiques d\u2019 aquests enzims per desenvolupar procesos espec\u00edfics. A m\u00e9s a m\u00e9s, el grup es centra en la producci\u00f3 de biopol\u00edmers, especialment nanocel.lulosa i biopl\u00e0stics (polihidroxibutirats, PHB) mitjan\u00e7ant la seva producci\u00f3n en soques recombinants. El grup s\u2019 ha especialitzat en l\u2019 \u00fas del sistema CRISPR-Cas per introduir edicions gen\u00f2miques de soques bacterianes, tant gramnegatius com gramnegatius, per tal de, mitjan\u00e7ant biologia sint\u00e8tica i enginyeria metab\u00f2lica augmentar la producci\u00f3 de les prote\u00efnes o biopol\u00edmers d\u2019 inter\u00e9s.
