Approximately twenty company representatives and some thirty researchers participated in the second\u00a0Open Innovation Forum<\/a>\u00a02019, a program organized by Biocat that gives companies the chance to share their innovation challenges and get proposals from research groups and centers to solve them. After a successful\u00a0first meeting in April<\/a>, a second one was held at the\u00a0Barcelona Science Park<\/a>\u00a0on 11 July, hosting 50 meetings.<\/p>\n

Arnau Valls, Innovation engineer at\u00a0Hospital Sant Joan de D\u00e9u<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0d\u00b7HEALTH Barcelona<\/a>\u00a0alumnus, was one of the participants in this session of the Open Innovation Forum. Along with other organizations that, like Sant Joan de D\u00e9u, are part of the\u00a0NEXTHEALTH community coordinated by Biocat under the RIS3CAT framework<\/a>, Valls met with several companies. \u201cWe’ve come up with several innovative solutions in the community and want to see how these solutions can help address the challenges companies face in applying new therapies, like CAR-T, for example,\u201d he highlights.<\/p>\n
