The UB was the first Catalan university to offer the programme\u2019s introductory and advanced courses to master\u2019s and doctoral students, with the aim of fostering a culture of innovation and helping research results reach the market.<\/p>\n<p>Since the first edition, held in 2024, 792 University of Barcelona students have enrolled in EPO courses. In the most recent edition, held in spring 2026, 81 students successfully completed either the introductory or advanced level, reflecting students\u2019 growing interest in acquiring knowledge of patents and intellectual property.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026-2027 edition introduces two significant new features. Firstly, the introductory course will be offered for the first time to final-year undergraduate students in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), in addition to master\u2019s and doctoral students. Successful completion of the course will be recognised with 3 ECTS credits.
