The University of Barcelona (UB), through the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG), has launched a new call under the Innovation Promotion Fund (F2I)<\/a>, a programme designed to help transform the University’s research results into innovations that reach the market and benefit society. The call provides support both for validating technologies with commercial potential and for fostering the creation of new researcher-led spin-offs.<\/p>\n

The programme is structured around two funding schemes. The first, the Proof of Concept (PoC)<\/strong> call, has a total budget of \u20ac100,000 and offers grants of up to \u20ac25,000 per project<\/strong> to develop proof-of-concept activities, reduce technological risk and bring research results closer to commercial exploitation.<\/p>\n

This funding scheme is open to University of Barcelona researchers leading projects for which the University owns or co-owns the underlying knowledge and research results covered by the grant. Applications<\/strong> may be submitted until 28 September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The second scheme, the Mentor in Residence (MiR) programme, is aimed at projects requiring specialised support to advance their valorisation process. Depending on the specific needs of each project, a mentor with the most suitable expertise and profile will be assigned to help accelerate its development and facilitate its path to the market.<\/p>\n

Through these initiatives, the University of Barcelona reinforces its commitment to knowledge transfer and innovation by promoting the valorisation of research results and supporting the creation of new knowledge-based ventures.<\/p>\n

This activity forms part of the project “Implementation Programme for the UB\u2013FBG Knowledge Transfer Plan (2025\u20132028), IMPACTE UB-FBG” (Operation Code UR68-8121), co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union, with the support of the Department of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, under the Catalonia ERDF Programme 2021\u20132027.<\/p>\n
