The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation and the Social Council of the University of Barcelona (UB) are once again announcing the Antoni Caparr\u00f3s and Sen\u00e9n Vilar\u00f3 awards, each with 5,000 euros. The Antoni Caparr\u00f3s award is given to the best knowledge, technology and innovation transfer project, while the Sen\u00e9n Vilar\u00f3 award is given to the best innovative company.<\/p>\n

For more information, click on the following link<\/a>.<\/p>\n The decision of the jury, made up of representatives of the convening institutions, will be made public at the awards ceremony, a public event that will take place at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n Antoni Caparr\u00f3s Award for the best knowledge, technology and innovation transfer project<\/strong><\/p>\n This category can be submitted for knowledge, technology and innovation transfer projects developed by UB research staff in collaboration with a company or institution and managed by the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.<\/p>\n A knowledge, technology and innovation transfer project is considered to be one in which a technology or knowledge generated at the University of Barcelona has been transferred to a company or institution so that it can make use of it.<\/p>\n Sen\u00e9n Vilar\u00f3 Award for the best innovative company<\/strong><\/p>\n This category is designed for innovative companies promoted by UB research staff, companies based on the results of research carried out at the UB, and companies advised by the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation and\/or companies in which the University of Barcelona has invested. They must be companies that have been in operation for a minimum of two years and a maximum of eight years.<\/p>\n More than forty awardees since 2008<\/strong><\/p>\n In the last edition, two awards were given in the Antoni Caparr\u00f3s category. It was received by Dr. Isidora Valentina S\u00e1ez, professor at the Faculty of Education of the UB, for the creation of a pioneering educational project with an innovative methodology for teaching history<\/a>.<\/p>\n On the other hand, the Antoni Caparr\u00f3s award was also received by Dr. Carmen Vidal Carou, professor of Nutrition and Bromatology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences of the UB, for having developed an innovative product of plant origin for the complementary treatment of histamine intolerance<\/a>, a disorder that affects around 1% of the population worldwide.<\/p>\n On the other hand, the Sen\u00e9n Vilar\u00f3 Award was won by the UB spin-off, Reveal Genomics, for having redefined precision oncology<\/a>, through the identification of new biomarkers and the development of diagnostic tests that improve the evolution and well-being of cancer patients.<\/p>\n Since 2008, the Board of Trustees and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation have awarded more than forty awards to highlight their work in promoting knowledge transfer and promoting research-based entrepreneurship. These awards aim to highlight the social and economic impact of the innovation generated at the University of Barcelona and recognize the efforts of its research staff to bring research results to society.<\/p>\n
