These are the University of Barcelona’s spin-offs and start-ups that will be present at 4YFN 2026
The University of Barcelona (UB), through the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (FBG) and StartUB!, has announced the companies selected to represent UB at 4YFN 2026, the platform dedicated to start-ups and entrepreneurship within the Mobile World Congress, which will take place at Fira Gran Via Barcelona (Hall 8) from 2 to 5 March.
The companies will showcase their technologies within UB’s own exhibition space — specifically at stands 8.1C23A and 8.1C23B. The aim is to present the university’s most innovative projects with the highest technology transfer potential, as well as the most relevant technological advances, in order to grow and gain visibility on a global stage.
Following the evaluation of all applications received, the companies selected to participate in the event have been grouped according to their participation dates and include a brief description of their activities. These include companies arising from university technologies (spin-offs) and emerging companies (start-ups):
2–3 March
Spin-offs
Electraqua Tech – Solutions for the removal of organic microcontaminants from industrial wastewater.
OrganAID Holdings – Develops an AI-based drug testing platform using organoids.
Virmedex Virtual Experiences – Develops gamified software for specialised medical training.
Start-ups
Avaru – Virtual reality applications to reduce stress, anxiety and pain in patients and healthcare professionals.
CellFlow – Medical technologies for health monitoring and support.
Nataly Life – A healthtech company developing medical devices for early detection and monitoring of postpartum risks.
The Blue Box – Innovative biomedical solutions focused on diagnostic technology.
WardUs – A mobile application designed to enhance personal safety and promote community solidarity.
4–5 March
Spin-offs
Flavii Therapeutics – Develops epigenetic therapies for the treatment of central nervous system disorders.
Nimble Diagnostics – A spin-off specialising in medical device monitoring using microwave and diagnostic technologies.
Start-ups
BlindStairs – An AI-powered platform for bias-free recruitment processes, promoting equal opportunities in the labour market.
BlueGreen Vision – A technology start-up focused on environmental conservation and biodiversity recovery.
Caring Collective – A social impact and collaborative systems project emerging from the UB community.
FotoNEX – An emerging visual/imaging technology project linked to UB.
Link3rs – A UB entrepreneurship finalist project focused on innovative solutions.
Offside Club – An entertainment or gamification initiative linked to UB.
In addition, other UB spin-offs will also be present, such as ColorSensing (stand 8.1C31.8B) and Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech. In the latter case, it will participate within the Mobile World Congress (MWC), specifically at Hall 6, Stand 6B12. Furthermore, on 3 March, Gate2Brain and Oniria Therapeutics will be present at stand 8.1A40.
