The University of Barcelona to showcase its most innovative projects at 4YFN during the Mobile World Congress
The University of Barcelona (UB) will present its most innovative projects at 4 Years From Now (4YFN), the startup and entrepreneurship platform of the Mobile World Congress, to be held at Fira Gran Via Barcelona (Hall 8, North Entrance) from March 2 to 5.
UB will have its own exhibition space within 4YFN (stands 8.1C23A and 8.1C23B) to showcase projects with high technological and social potential in areas such as digital health, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and digital transformation.
The University has consolidated its position as a key player in knowledge-based entrepreneurship and innovation, with 67 active companies generating more than 260 highly qualified jobs and securing over €80 million in funding over the past five years.

Through knowledge transfer and the creation of innovative companies, UB contributes to the economic, social and cultural development of its environment,” states Dr. Mercè Segarra, Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Barcelona.
UB spin-offs and start-ups at 4YFN
On March 2 and 3, UB will present the spin-offs Electraqua Tech, OrganAID Holdings and Virmedex Virtual Experiences, as well as the start-ups Avaru, CellFlow, Nataly Life, The Blue Box and WardUs.
On March 4 and 5, UB will showcase the spin-offs Flavii Therapeutics and Nimble Diagnostics and the start-ups BlindStairs, BlueGreen Vision, Caring Collective, FotoNEX, Link3rs and Offside Game.
Other UB spin-offs will also be present, such as ColorSensing (stand 8.1C31.8B) and Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, the latter located in Hall 6, Stand 6B12 of the MWC. In addition, on March 3, Gate2Brain and Oniria Therapeutics will be present at stand 8.1A40.
BKA, an alliance to promote university innovation
UB will participate in 4YFN as part of the Barcelona Knowledge Alliance (BKA), which brings together Barcelona’s four public universities (UB, UAB, UPC and UPF) to promote research, innovation and education in the service of social and economic progress. This collaboration strengthens Barcelona and its metropolitan region’s position as a global benchmark in science and talent.
During the event, BKA will organize conferences, networking meetings and pitching activities to foster connections between the academic and entrepreneurial ecosystems and to facilitate technology transfer.

BKA Pitch Corner – 4YFN 2026
On March 2 and 3, several UB spin-offs and start-ups will participate in the BKA Pitch Corner at 4YFN 2026, where they will have 3 minutes to present their project and 2 minutes to answer questions from the audience.
This participation offers UB’s emerging companies a unique opportunity to showcase their projects to investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals.

BKA Networking: connections and opportunities at 4YFN
On Tuesday, March 3, from 17:45 to 19:00, the Barcelona Knowledge Alliance (BKA) will organize a Networking & Drinks session at the MWC Networking Hub. This meeting will facilitate connections between representatives from academia, entrepreneurs, investors and key players in Barcelona’s innovation ecosystem. This is a private event, by invitation only.
