The most relevant aspects when carrying out a public tender
The Public Procurement Department of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation works to ensure that each tender is carried out with the highest levels of transparency, efficiency and equal opportunities, while also guaranteeing the proper use of public resources. Its mission is to advise and support researchers at the University of Barcelona throughout the entire procurement process.
The work begins with a proper definition of the need, the budget and the duration of the contract, especially in cases where the amount exceeds €50,000 or the duration is longer than one year. Next, the administrative and technical specifications are drafted, setting out the conditions, evaluation criteria and contractual obligations.
Once the tender has been published on the official platforms, any interested company may submit a bid. All received proposals are assessed in accordance with the criteria established in the specifications, and once the contract has been awarded, the Department monitors its execution to ensure it is carried out correctly.
Public procurement is therefore a key tool for ensuring open and transparent processes, and for continuing to promote research excellence through sound management and good practice.
