Bridges to investors: Curie.Bio, a new model for venture capital in biotech
The Innovation Department at IRB Barcelona is organising a session with the Curie.Bio team to present a new investment model in biotechnology focused on early-stage projects. The session will provide insights into their hands-on approach to supporting founders and scientific teams in creating and developing new therapeutic companies.
Curie.Bio is a US-based venture capital fund with a global focus that works with biomedical projects from the earliest stages. Its model combines investment with scientific and operational support to help develop new medicines, whether by investing in existing companies, creating spin-offs, or building new companies from scratch.
Currently, Curie.Bio has a team of more than 100 professionals dedicated to drug discovery and development and has raised more than $1.25B through two funds: the Seed Fund, focused on preclinical stages, and the Breakout Fund, aimed at advancing programmes through clinical trials.
